The girl group Busters is adapting to the era of artificial intelligence (AI) by pursuing a more future-oriented concept, aiming to expand their influence on the global stage. By incorporating innovative AI technology into their performances and musical experimentation, they are expected to emerge as a new icon of Hallyu (the Korean Wave).
In June last year, Busters received the Global Hallyu Star Award at the 2024 Korea Best Brand Awards, solidifying their position as a K-POP girl group. They went on to perform in Japan at the ENA K POP UP CHART SHOW IN JAPAN and KBEE 2024 TOKYO, receiving enthusiastic cheers from local fans. They also participated in the Korea-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival, creating special moments with Vietnamese fans.
Beyond performances, Busters has steadily expanded their musical spectrum. They showcased an emotional musical world with the release of the webtoon OST “Shining Day” last year and continue to establish their own unique sound by exploring various genres.
Busters is also making a strong impression in Japan and Southeast Asia. In 2023, they appeared at KCON JAPAN 2023, performing for three consecutive days and leaving a powerful presence. They were also appointed ambassadors for the 2023 KWBL Wheelchair Basketball League, spreading a positive social message beyond K-POP.
In particular, in 2022, they were selected as advertising models for the Indonesian coffee brand Java Prima Abadi’s Luwak White Coffee, solidifying their foothold in the Southeast Asian market.
Their agency, Marbling, is building a new K-POP paradigm using AI technology. They produced music for LUNA SNOW, a K-POP character from MARVEL STUDIO, and have been involved in producing various J-POP tracks, including for AKB48. They have also made their mark in the K-POP industry by producing tracks like “Who Dis?” by SECRET NUMBER and “LOVELY” by Gong Minzy.
With a new AI-integrated concept, anticipation is growing for the innovative moves Busters will make on the global stage.
